In the last entry I said we were going to the State street block party. And yes, we did!!The block party takes place every year in the summer. Its a laid back party where neighbors get together.I think this is so cool idea to have this party.People get to know each other, especially for one who just moved in to this neighborhood like us.It makes me feel like living in my hometown where people know and help each other out.
Anyway, lets go to the party before we are late.
I fed you and made sure you dont have a dirty diaper and took off!!!
Evelyn and her yellow house
Our destination was two minutes away.We couldnt wait to get there:)
We thought we were late but we werent. There were lot of kids out playing but parents were inside.By the way, they closed the block so no car passed the street.Children are safe.
You met the first stranger, Pam, a lady who lives cross the street. And you gave her a big smile:)
There was a fire truck. The fire men were very kind, gave out hats, stickers, and let the kids checked out inside of the truck. You cant do that yet.How about wait until next year.
We stayed at the party for a while then we had to head back home because you had a dirty diaper. On the way back, I met two cute little girls.I said hello to them and asked them where they live. They were very friendly and didnt hesitate to talk to me.From the picture, you will see name tags they have on.Everybody had to wear a name tag that have name and address so others know who you are and where you live.
After you had a new diaper and a tummy full, we went back to the party. This time I had you in the sling because you were sleeping. It was exactly dinner time. There were a lot of people already.
I didnt know any body there beside Trover who lives cross the street.
There was ton of food and desert.I got my food and went to sit next to Pam.You were awake when I was eating, so Pam volunteered to hold you.
I had opportunity to make new friends. They made me feel welcome.More importantly, people got to know who Evelyn is.They like you. You were very alert.I can tell that you are friendly already.I am very proud of you my dear.
After dinner, the kids got to play a game.I wish I could play with them (I wanted to be a kid again).About the game, they hid money and candies under neat the hay pile and let the kids find it.They really had a good time there.I think next year you would be able to play too.
We stayed until 8.00 pm and went home.It was too bad that Daddy had to work; otherwise we would come with us.He would love the party and people. We missed Daddy that day!!!
I love you

What a wonderful, fun event for Mommy and Ebie to attend! I'm so glad you both got a chance to meet your neighbors -- you are making some very good friends already and you've only lived in the Yellow House a few weeks!!! You are both so friendly and kind, everyone loves you! Hugs & Kisses xoxoxo Grammy
